A Long Post

I have a lot to share and say, so instead of writing many small posts, I'm going to write one long one. To start, it's good to be home. I love living in Virginia, especially where we are. I feel like we have access to the best of everything. On Sunday morning, since we have church at 1:00pm, we went up to Riverbend Park for a walk. This park is north of Great Falls (where the Potomac drops and goes over rocks) and we walked through trees right by the river. It was nice to get out of the city (even though it's not that far out of the city) and just be around nature. And it was only a 30 minute drive away. It was really nice. The pictures below are of Sweets on the trail and by the river. She wanted to play in the water; are you surprised?

Sunday also saw lots of changes to our ward. They had cut our ward smaller and we get to meet in a different building. This brought a lot of releases, including my release from the Primary Presidency. I'm going to miss Primary. I've really enjoyed working with the kids and all that goes with it. Oh well, the Lord always has a plan for us that we don't expect. We'll see what's coming up next.

I've been enjoying watching the Olympics this past week. What is it about the Olympics that just draws you in? For me, it's just amazing to see the athleticism. Michael Phelps is amazing to watch. He just blows everyone out of the water and his swimming is phenominal. I've also enjoyed watching the girl's gymnastics and water polo. Oh, how I miss playing water polo, but it's great to watch it being played again.

Sweets continues to grow at an astonishing rate. She's now imitating adult behavior. For example, she tried to change the diaper on her baby doll the other day. She's also acting more like a toddler, throwing mini-tantrums and pushing all of her mom's buttons. She's still the sweetest thing ever though, so I continue to forgive her and love her even if she does bite me and get into everything I say no to (including the trash).

I just have to say that I love the Farmer's Market and that peaches are in season. Oh, I'm totally in heaven!

My best friend is moving on Monday. Heather, you're leaving! I could go on a really long description about how much she means to me and how much I'm going to miss her, but I'll spare you all. Just know, Heather, you will be sorely missed. And I'm already planning our trip to Ohio in a year!

I think there were a lot of other things I wanted to say, but now I can't remember them all. I guess I'll just write about them as I think of them or as they happen. Thanks for reading anyway!

As we traveled across the country, we would stop at night and flip on the Olympics. SM would stay up till midnight watching and as soon as my head hit the pillow, I'd be gone. You are right when you say there is something about the Olympics...something wonderful.

Just to let you know, again, we made it to Utah without any problems. I've now had the opportunity to hold all my new nephews except one and it's been delightful.

I enjoyed your review of some of the books you've read and thanks for not giving the ending away to Breaking Dawn.

Got to run, I'm walking with my mother-in-law this morning.
