Weekend

I love three-day weekends. This last weekend was Columbus Day and Hubby had the day off. So we made the most of our whole weekend. Saturday we took Sweets to the National Zoo. It was the first time she actually looked at the animals, pointed at them, and was generally interested in what we were doing. We went to the petting zoo and she loved the donkeys and not so much the goats. She also liked the fish.


Monday Sweets got to go on a bike ride with her dad in the morning. We just got a bike trailer, and Hubby reports that Sweets likes it. They went about 10 miles round trip. It gave me a morning to relax and do some shopping. Then we went with some friends to Great Falls and had a dinner picnic. Sweets loved playing on the rocks and it was great fun. Needless to say, I was exhausted by the end of the weekend.

I love that picture of you with your family at the Falls. It is gorgeous. I miss the fall in Virginia. I miss seeing how the trees change colors and the bushes. It is sorely missed. We did have snow last weekend, it was nice and it's also nice that it melted in a day. Back to fall weather and not snow.
