Life is just plugging away. I've actually been trying to think of what to write here, and I've been pretty blank. Life is basically the same: waiting to hear the bar results, Sweets gaining vocabulary and growing up (she's now 22 lbs! yay!), and weekends walking the C&O Canal trail and keeping busy. But there are a few things I'd like to touch on.
I'm not much of a TV watcher anymore, but I will watch shows online. I followed America's Got Talent this season. I was very surprised to see Neal E. Boyd win the whole thing. My favorite was Eli Mattson, so hopefully he gets a record deal. I'm also glad to see Pushing Daisies back on the air. One of the most creative shows and very visually beautiful.
I've saved my rant on the whole $700 billion bailout plan. You all know my opinion by now, I'm sure, so I don't need to preach to you anymore about it. It's just frustrating that here's all this money going to come out of OUR pockets, and the market will still tank until inflated house prices stop dropping. It's not really going to help, but I guess we'll see. I saw a great commentary on the causes of this whole mess on Coyote Blog. Gave me a lot to think about.
General Conference was wonderful. I didn't hear much of Saturday's sessions (thank goodness we get to read them right?) but Sunday morning was wonderful. I am so grateful that we have prophets and apostles to lead and guide us today. With the world going so topsy turvey, it's great to have something so steadfast to look to and hold on to. I also have to say that I really enjoyed the Relief Society broadcast as well. It never ceases to amaze me how I always hear something at conference time that is exactly what I need to hear right then. I read on a blog that President Uctdorf (sp?) could read the phone book and you could feel the spirit. I totally agree. :)
8 more weeks to go before I get my body back. Thank goodness....
