As you all know, President Hinckley died on Sunday night. Yesterday, I actually spent some time reading people's reactions and just pondering about his role in my life. He's been prophet for about half of my life, so his passing is a bit of a shock. Granted, I knew it was coming (we all did), but it is sad all the same. And yet, with the profound sadness, comes the knowlege that he's probably a lot happier where he is. He's with his wife again, with his family, with friends. I just wanted to say here, because I have nowhere else to say it, thank you President Hinckley. Thank you for your service, your kindness, your humor, and your love. Thank you for teaching me and my family so much through the years. Thank you for being such a great example.
And to his family: thank you for sharing him with us for all these years. I'm grateful and appreciate your sacrifice.
To President Monson: Our prayers are with you.
