A couple weekends ago we went up the the National Arboretum in Washington, D.C. We thought it was the weekend all the azaleas would be in bloom. Turns out only some of them were in bloom; peak would be the following week. We had fun anyway. We also forgot our double stroller AND the baby carrier. So, Hubby and me were very sore from carrying everyone off and on, but we still had a great time.
Bumpkin loved the fish.
Like I said we forgot the stroller.

The flowers, as you can tell, were fabulous. What a great outing!
Easter came like a whirlwind. The girls were beautiful, but Sweets' birthday was the following Saturday, so Easter was the beginning of my crazy week. The girls loved their baskets and we tried really, really hard to help remind them that Easter is about Jesus and his atonement, not about candy. Here they are in their finery:
Then came Sweets' birthday. Yep, a big ol' 4 years. Wow. How did that happen? Four years? I've been mother to this sweet thing for 4 years? She is definitely a joy. She also teaches her mother patience on a daily basis. She love to perform and she loves having and making friends. She loves to carry Bug around and plays with Bumpkin all the time. She's a fabulous sister and a continual help to me. She gave her first talk in Primary not too long ago and did a stellar job. She is confident and such a little princess. I hope I can help her keep that as she grows. For her birthday, Sweets wanted a princess cake. Here's the result:
We had a party for her and she loved it. We played pin the hair on the princess, musical chairs, made tiaras, and just generally had a good time. Mommy decided that a party is a lot of work, so we're only going to have one every other year or so. But she had a blast. This last Saturday we did a section of the C&O Canal trail. We had started this when we lived here before, and have decided to finish it now we are back. So we did a section, thinking we hadn't done it yet, but we had. Oh well. We'll keep it up. I would post some pictures, but I haven't uploaded them yet. Just think water, green trees, butterflies, and some beautiful children. You get the picture.
That about catches us up. Other than saying that Bug is rolling over and over and over, starting to go places. And she's trying to figure out how to scoot, or crawl, or something. Here we go!
