The Simple Pleasures (and Problems) of Life

Lots to say, lots to say. I'll start with my current dilemma: a new car seat for Sweets. Our old car seat got "shredded" (Hubby's description) on our way home from Utah. We've been using one the airlines provided (absolutely terrible), but now they've paid us for the old I got to go shopping. First, there are WAY too many car seat choices. And many of them are WAY overpriced. Needless to say, after reading many reviews, we all went to the store yesterday and found a seat. Of course they were out of stock (typical) but I got it online (and it was on sale). So that hurdle is now over, thank goodness.

So Hubby and I have been on a diet. We've stuck to it pretty well. I was exercising fairly well (I go walking daily with a couple friends) but I didn't go all last week. Icky, but it was so cold and it was rainy one day, that I just couldn't take Sweets out. All things told, I've lost 10 pounds already. That's enough to keep me going.

I was going to say something about the politics going on right now (I live in the Beltway. We breathe politics out here) but I think I'll spare you all. Just know that I'm quite discontented with everyone and everything. I just can't wait until November and all this is over.

The Hubby took me out to Cheesecake Factory for a Valentines Lunch. Very yummy. I had this really delicious salad and we shared a piece of Turtle Cheesecake (caramel, pecans, chocolate). I was in heaven. Then he got me a bouquet of books from the bookstore. They were a couple of my favorites from Shannon Hale, my favorite new young adult author. We had a great time; Sweets was home with a babysitter the whole time.

So long...nap time!
