I've been keeping my mouth shut on political issues here lately. I figured most of you wouldn't care, and there was nothing that really got me going (except for the health care bill, but that's a whole other post). Now, I didn't vote for Obama. I didn't really like him. But I was willing to give him a chance, see what he would do. Something has happened now that I no longer will give him that courtesy.
Read this article. If you don't want to take the time to read it, I'll give you a quick synopsis. You all know about the BP oil spill in the Gulf. Who doesn't? Well, 3 days after the explosion, the Netherlands offered their help. They have these ships that sucks up water, cleans most of the oil out of it, then dumps the water back into the ocean. And they offered to come help build sand barriers off the coast to help keep the oil off the beaches and marshes. Not only would they help, they'd do it for free. FREE! What was our answer? "Thanks, but no thanks." Even a month later, it was a no go. 12 other countries also offered their help, but nope. Nothing doing. Why didn't we say yes? Well, the ships don't get ALL the oil out, and the EPA says that if the water isn't 99.998% oil free, it can't go back into the Gulf. And the sand barriers? We have to preserve American jobs, so Americans, who have far less experience and not the right equipment, get to do it.
Does anyone else think this is absurd? Other ships are there pulling water out and cleaning out the oil, but then they have to store it because it has 10%-15% oil still in it. Time is wasted getting the water to storage facilities. So we would rather have a thick sludge of oil clogging the water, beaches, marshland, everything, ruining the way of life down there, and who know what else, than have most of the oil gone. I just can't believe it. It boggles my mind. Can anyone explain this? Our EPA is willing to have 100% of oil in the water than 10%-15% of oil. What an environmental protection that is.
I don't really have the words to really touch my anger and disbelief on this. I thought these people cared about the environment. I thought they cared about our coast. I guess when action calls for it, they show their true colors. And this is from someone who loves the earth but isn't a left-wing crazy about it. All I have to say is "Shame on you, Mr. President and those in your government. Shame on you."

Yes....SHAME ON MR. PRESIDENT AND ALL GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS for being arrogant, selfish, and prideful. SHAME! I did not know this and am very interested in it.
Second...you are a great writer. Your blog is enjoyable to read.
Third...congrats on the prego. 3 will be a walk in the park for you....get ready for 8 or 9.
Fourth, I am with you on the Twilight series. I watch Eclipse. Too much smoochin and Edward....he's really good for nothing. I've read only half of one of the books but I couldn't finish it. It was all dialogue and it seemed to take a long time to get anywhere. Harry Potter....still yet to read the books!
Fifth, enjoy being hormonal....at least it gives you an excuse to be that way! :)
Hope you all are well.
Love ya!

It really isn't about the environment, it is about the political opportunities. You've probably heard that at one time they didn't want to waste an opportunity.
I agree, Shame on the president and political officials that are out for their own gain.
Keep up the great blog. Glad I found it!
