Update

Hubby is still unemployed. But, there is action on the home front. We have a plan. Hubby is, at this moment, driving east. He takes the bar in Maryland next week (no fun). Then, he's staying there. He's going to Virginia to see what work he can drum up. He can pick up some contract work (temp work for attorneys) and he can actively search. Everyone here in Utah was starting to advise him to go door to door, asking for work. Since he isn't barred here, that would prove to be a little difficult. So, he's going to do that in Virginia. He's going to talk to people, build contacts, and try to get a job. As soon as he has enough income, the girls and I will join him. So, hopefully, and probably, we're returning to Virginia.

The girls are doing wonderfully. Sweets just continues to grow and amaze me. She's praying on her own now and just loves to be the center of everything. I'm starting to learn that I really need to watch what I say, because, sooner or later, what I say will come out of her mouth. Bumpkin keeps me on my toes. She still doesn't have many words, but she sure knows how to make known what she wants. She has definitely stolen her grandparents' hearts.

And me? Well, let's just say life is hard. But God is there, and He is good, and He is in control. That thread of faith is what keeps me going, day after day.

On an end note, I have a friend who likes to read dedication pages in books, and she collects them. This has made me read the dedication page of every book I read. I came across one today I really liked. It is the dedication to Robin McKinley's book The Outlaws of Sherwood. It reads: "To Merrilee, who saved it; and to R.W., who saved me."

Your plan sounds great! Good luck to Jon and keep trekking back here while he's gone! This season in your life will pass and you'll find things in it that you miss even though you're very glad to be past it. Love ya!

My prayers are with you and your husband Becca! Being out of work is a hard trial. My husband is out of work too and it's so frustrating and hard on the self-esteem. But you have a good outlook on it all. Like you said, the Lord is in control. There is something we can learn from all of this. We will get through it. Miss you!
