We've been busy. Sweets is growing almost too fast to keep track. She's saying so much more (cracker, baby, to mention a couple) and can point out a few more body parts. She's taller too. I haven't taken her in for her 15 month checkup yet (oops) but I can definately tell she's keeping up her tall/skinny growth. Clothes are becoming a problem. She's too tall for her size, but swims in the next size up. A problem I'm sure we'll face for awhile. She has also been doing the motions to Itsy Bitsy Spider and Pat-a-Cake all by herself. She loves to wrap her baby doll up in blankets and rock her. It's fun to watch her "copying" me and hopefully she's be just as gentle and nice to her baby sister when the time comes.
Two weekends ago we had fun. Saturday we went to the Farmer's Market and got some yummy peaches and a very ripe, very yummy cantaloupe. I can't eat peaches from anywhere else. They just aren't good unless they're ripe; they're only really ripe straight from the farmers. I learned that in California. Let's just say, I'm in heaven. Then we went and started the C&O Canal trail in Georgetown. Hubby wants to walk the whole thing (in sections, thank goodness) so we got started. It was a nice walk and overall we went 4 miles (2 miles out, 2 miles back). It was a great walk, but I was glad when it was done. Walking that far this pregnancy is hard, but I did it!
Then, for Labor Day, we had a barbecue with some friends. Of course I left my camera upstairs, so you'll have to picture this as well. It was nice to sit out in the nice weather, grill, and talk. It's always nice to take a break from the normal everyday things.
Last weekend we had a visit from Tropical Storm Hanna. It was the first tropical storm I've been through, and it wasn't as bad as everyone said it would be (which I should expect; weathermen rarely ever get the weather right around here). It was fun to sit inside and watch the pouring rain. My tomatoes and peppers got nice and watered (my pepper just barely got rid of all the standing water in the pot). Needless to say, I'm glad it wasn't worse but it was fun while it lasted.
On Tuesday Hubby stayed home and we attacked our apartment. It is now clean and organized, even Sweets' closet (a miracle really). I was so grateful my hubby was willing to help me. It's hard to corral the little one enough to just get normal cleaning done, much less for deep cleaning and organization. It's made me feel a lot better about the state of our home and lots of other things.
Well, I think that about brings us up to date. I will definitely write more; I've missed this!
